I follow the ABRSM examination board to prepare students for exams and I have a 100% pass rate.

Preparing for exam takes careful planning and an awareness of the importance of including all aspects of the exam in the lesson on a regular basis. This adds an
extra element of structure and provides an excellent source of motivation.

Piano Exam Certificates

It takes from a year to several years especially the younger beginners to grasp the basics of piano playing. Achieving Grade 1 standard is a big step and depends on the individual student’s abilities and commitment to practice.

For the practical exams, graded 1 through 8, my students need a combination of skills and understanding displayed through:

  • performance skills through pieces or songs
  • notation skills through a sight-reading test
  • technical skills through scales and arpeggios
  • listening skills and musical perception through aural tests
