I started my business Diyana Piano Studio in 2008 -providing piano and theory lessons to children and adults in Witney, Eynsham and Oxford.
I welcome students from all ages, levels and abilities; from beginners to advanced. Lessons usually takes place at my home in Witney on a Yamaha U3 upright piano.
Learning to play an instrument is a long process whether you want to learn for fun or take exams – a level of commitment is required.
Students are encouraged to perform as much as possible. My intention is to hold one concert at the end of June/beginning of July. There are also local festivals such as Oxford, Chipping Norton and Abingdon Music Festivals, where students are encouraged to take part.
I am also happy to help more advanced students prepare for a Diploma or just to broaden their repertoire, learn new techniques and develop their skills.
Online lessons available via Facetime and WhatsApp. Please contact me for more information.
I provide:
• Classically trained skillset with a BA degree in Piano Performance
• International experience
• 100% pass Exam rate
• Enhanced DBS certificate
• Well-established and respected teaching practice
• Lessons individually tailored to all ages and abilities
• Confident and friendly approach
I follow the ABRSM examination board to prepare students for exams and I have a 100% pass rate.
Preparing for exam takes careful planning and an awareness of the importance of including all aspects of the exam in the lesson on a regular basis. This adds an
extra element of structure and provides an excellent source of motivation.
It takes from a year to several years especially the younger beginners to grasp the basics of piano playing. Achieving Grade 1 standard is a big step and depends on the individual student’s abilities and commitment to practice.
As a well-qualified and experienced pianist I am available as an accompanist for music exams , auditions or competitions. Help with Aural test is available , if required.
For students taking Grade 1-4 one rehearsal is usually sufficient, grade 5 and above may require more rehearsals. Charges depend on the work required and travel distance.
